The Pliva Watermills

Jajce · 17th-century mills on the lake

The Pliva Watermills

Between the two Pliva lakes stands a cluster of some seventeen tiny wooden watermills — Mlinčići — built in the seventeenth century and, a few of them, still grinding grain. Best at dawn, when the mist sits on the lake and the wheels turn to no one.

Best for

Curious travellers who want a local door opened, privately.

Not for

Big-bus itineraries or a fixed, inflexible schedule.
